Merl Rincker
(August 23, 1924 – June 22, 2010)
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Strasburg with Rev. Steven Becker officiating. Visitation from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Strasburg. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg. Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Strasburg or Trinity Lutheran School, Stewardson.
Mr. Rincker was born on August 23, 1924 in Strasburg, IL, the son of Otto William and Bertha Rosetta Sophia (Krile) Rincker. He was a retired grain and cattle farmer. Merl was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Strasburg, American Herford Association, American Polled Herford Association and the Shelby County Farm Bureau. He also raised purebred Dalmatians for over 30 years. He married Marilouise Young at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Strasburg on December 23, 1945. She died on June 2, 2004.
Surviving are his sons, Gary Rincker of Strasburg, Jim Rincker and wife Sharon of Windsor and Chris Rincker and wife Nicole of Strasburg; daughter, Arlene Friese and husband Brad of Strasburg; brother, Loyd Rincker and wife Mary of Shelbyville; sister, Norma Rose Huddleston of Strasburg; sisters-in-law, Mildred Rincker of Strasburg, Gail Rincker of Strasburg and Eileen Bridges and husband Roger of Windsor; 14 grandchildren, Sheryl Vonderheide, Doug Rincker, Mike Rincker, Matt Rincker, Dawn Meinhart, Brock Friese, Kurt Friese, Adaire Zalman, Alyssa Rincker, Abby Rincker, Samantha Hammack, Raven Teague, Robin Teague and Raina Teague; 14 great grandchildren, Adam Vonderheide, Rachel Vonderheide, Claire Vonderheide, Dustin Vonderheide, Zachary Rincker, Austin Rincker, Grace Rincker, Madilyn Rincker, Nathan Meinhart, Josie Meinhart, Ben Meinhart, Alaira Friese, Seth Rincker and Mya Friese; and three great great grandchildren, Raegyn Vonderheide, Makayla Stigers and Aiden Stigers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Otto and Rosetta; wife, Marilouise; brothers, Dale Rincker and Ivan Rincker; and grandchildren, Kenneth Rincker and Kimberly Rincker.
