Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2017 in Bethel Cemetery, near Findlay, IL with Brother Darrell Best officiating. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Saving Orphaned Animals, Shelbyville, IL.
Michael was born on May 31, 1974 in Decatur, IL the son of Marilyn Kay Roberts. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1992 and later from Cosmetology School in Bloomington, IL. Michael was a hairstylist for the Cutting Edge in Shelbyville, IL. He enjoyed collecting lighthouses, watching the movie Titanic and caring for his beloved boxer, Baby Boy. He married Troy Roberts-Mathenia and he survives.
He is also survived by his sons, Brian Michael Roberts and friend Arianna of Stewardson, IL and Myles Edward Roberts and friend Kristin of Stewardson, IL; mother and step father, Marilyn and Dennis Walden of Shelbyville, IL; grandmother, Eva Roberts of Shelbyville, IL; step-brother, Travis Walden of Lincoln, IL; step-sister, Shannon Miller and husband Jared of Shelbyville, IL; uncle, John Roberts and wife Connie of Pawnee, IL; aunt, Alice Mars and husband Larry of Neoga, IL; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Edward O. Roberts.
