Michael Lynn Johnston, Jr. , 42, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021, in the home of his parents in Shelbyville, IL.

Mike was born on December 28, 1978, in Effingham, IL, the son of Michael Lynn, Sr.  and Cecelia Marie (Losh) Johnston. He attended Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1998. Michael worked as a machine operator at Shelby County Community Services until 2019. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bulls fan. Michael enjoyed listening to music, playing guitar, operating remote control cars, and caring for his pets, Gus and Boo.

Mike is survived by his parents, Michael, Sr. and Cecelia Johnston of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Teresa Johnston of Chicago, IL; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Evelyn Johnston; maternal grandparents, Frank and Josephine Losh, three aunts, and two cousins.

Family services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Saving Orphaned Animals, Shelbyville, IL and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.
