Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Gary J. Young officiating. Memorials may be given to Saving Orphaned Animals, Shelbyville, IL or Mooseheart.
Michael was born on November 25, 1949 in Centralia, IL, the son of Ray and Mildred Hill Gray. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1967. He was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran serving during the Vietnam War. After he returned from the service, he graduated from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. He began working as a pharmacist at Family Drug and later worked in the pharmacies at St. Mary’s Hospital, CVS, Wal-Mart, K-mart and Walgreens all in Decatur, IL. He was a member of Moose Lodge #1294 of Shelbyville, IL.
He is survived by his mother, Millie Gray of Shelbyville, IL; brother, Lyle J. Gray and friend Peggy of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Rita Marie Wood and husband Bill of St. Elmo, IL; nephews, Dustin Gray and friend Becky, Douglas Wood and wife Kelly and Jeffrey Wood and wife Carrisa; niece, Ashley Adams and fiancé Bret Austin; and great nieces and nephews, Alexis Adams, Nicholas Wood, Reese Wood, Alexander Wood, Peyton Wood, William Wood and Daric Austin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Gray.
