Mildred E Nippe

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL with Pastor Don Pankey officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to Winebrenner Church of God in Mattoon, IL.
Mrs. Nippe was born on July 20, 1938 in Altamont, IL, the daughter of William and Anita Mueller Wendling. She graduated from Altamont High School in the Class of 1956 and from Concordia College, River Forest, IL in 1960. She began teaching in Eau Claire, WI. She later taught at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Strasburg, IL, Trinity Lutheran School in Stewardson, IL and retired from Stewardson-Strasburg CUSD 5A, where she was a kindergarten teacher. Following her retirement, Millie was a substitute teacher for the district for many years. She was a member of Winebrenner Church of God in Mattoon, IL. She married Charles F. Nippe on February 28, 1965.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; son, William “Bill” Nippe of Strasburg, IL; daughter, Greta Hilty and husband Jeffrey of Eugene, OR; and sister, Clara Klitzing of Altamont, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother in infancy.
