Millie M Freemon
(September 15, 1917 – April 24, 2015)
Millie was a firm believer in hard work. After high school, she worked in retail and after having her children cleaned houses and took in laundry. She then became a cafeteria worker in the Shelbyville School for over 30 years. Millie was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Shelbyville. She was very independent and wanted to do everything for herself. She was sometimes called stubborn. However, those who could get beyond a sometimes gruff exterior discovered the warmth and kindness underneath. She was well liked by both the assisted living and nursing home staffs. Many referred to her as being “such a sweetheart.”
