Miriam E. (Frizzell) Herten Evans, 82, of Allen, TX, formerly of Shelbyville died Tuesday, March 16, 2010.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 22, 2010 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Lee Lovett officiating. Visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Ash Grove Cemetery, Windsor, IL. Memorials may be given to American Heart Association.

Miriam was born on January 21, 1928 in Windsor, IL, the daughter of William Franklin and Suzanne Freida Stits Frizzell. She graduated from nurses training in Chicago. Miriam was a registered nurse at Shelby Memorial Hospital and later at the Shelby County Health Department for over 40 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville and a former member of Women of the Moose #1325 in Shelbyville. She married Harold A. “Hap” Herten on June 26, 1951. He died on August 6, 1987. She married Burl Evans on December 31, 1991. He died on September 22, 2001.

Surviving are her daughters, Christine (Art) Dunkel of Allen, TX and Linda (Frank) Werner of Shelbyville; brother, Dean Frizzell of Windsor; four grandchildren, Charles Kutz, Mike Kutz, Melina Werner and Daniel Werner; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; and brothers, Kenneth Clayton Frizzell and Edward William Frizzell at birth.
