Mylbra J Jones

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2006 in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Gene Colthurst officiating. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until time of service. Burial will be in Tower Hill Cemetery, Tower Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be given to Shelbyville Rehabilitation & Health Care Center for Facilities Donation or Tower Hill United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Jones was born on January 31, 1918 in Tazewell County, Illinois, the daughter of Wardy and Althea Flo Osborn Lee. She graduated from Tower Hill High School in the Class of 1935. She worked at Mallory’s Manufacturing in Pana for many years. She was a member of the Tower Hill United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Shelby County Home Extension and Tower Hill Woman’s Club. She married Orville Merlin Jones on December 28, 1937. He died on January 26, 1979.
Surviving are her son, Alan K. Jones and wife Eileen of Tower Hill; daughter, Karen M. Hodges and husband Larry of Conway, South Carolina; sister, Joyce Stratton and husband Bill of Mattoon; sister-in-law, Norma Jones of Tower Hill; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wardy and Althea Lee; husband, Orville Jones; brother, August Lee; and sisters, Lois Canfield and Marjorie Foor.
