Myron O Bennett
(January 30, 1940 – July 31, 2013)
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2013 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. In keeping with Myron’s wishes, cremation will follow the visitation. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
Myron was born on January 30, 1940 in Cowden, IL, the son of Thomas Myron and Ada May Horath Bennett. He attended Cowden High School and then served in the U. S. Army. Myron was a lifelong farmer, farming in the Cowden area.
He is survived by his daughters, Brenda S. Lewis of Shelbyville and Linda L. Headrick and husband Brian of Cowden; son-in-law, Brent Himes of Shelbyville; brothers, Tom Bennett and wife Delois of Amarillo, TX, Earnest Bennett and wife Barb of Cowden, Kenneth Bennett and wife Brenda of Cowden, and Henry Bennett of Beecher City; grandchildren, Belinda Hoyt of Shelbyville, Benjamin Hoyt of Shelbyville, Samantha and Sara Headrick of Cowden, Jeri Lewis and fiancé Greg Cresswell of Lafayette, IN and Matthew Lewis and fiancée Elizabeth Pettyjohn-Thrall of Shelbyville; and great grandchildren, Micah and Noah Sandiford of Cowden, Jonah Hoyt of Shelbyville, Ian and Tucker Hoyt of Shelbyville and Kallie Brown of Cowden.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Pamela J. Himes on July 24, 2013; and brothers, Homer Horath and Harvey Bennett.
