Nannette A Ramsey

Private family services will be held at later date. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Shelbyville Area Community Foundation for the General Dacey Trail.
Nannette was born on July 3, 1935 in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Frank and Marie Olson Ahalt. She graduated from Downers Grove High School in the Class of 1953 and then attended the University of Maryland in the Class of 1957. She worked in musical advertising in Chicago for 20 years and was a member of the Musicians Union.
She moved to Shelbyville with her husband, Walter Ramsey, in 1979. Nannette was always very active as a volunteer in the University of Illinois Extension, 4-H, and county fair work and activities. She loved living in rural Shelbyville, enjoying the birds, trees, and all of nature. And she especially loved all of her Shelby County friends. In recent years, she enjoyed working with the “Bag Ladies” at the United Methodist Church of Findlay, where she was a member. She married Walter Ramsey on May 30, 1979 in Wheaton, Illinois.
She is survived by her husband, Walter; and sisters, Laura Ahalt Harris of Burlington, NC and Francine Strayhorn of Greensboro, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
