Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (April 4, 2007) in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville with Brother Wayne Polk officiating. Visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association, Church of Christ at Dale City Building Fund c/o Church of Christ, 13130 Hillendale Drive, Woodbridge, VA 22193, Shelby County Rescue Squad or Shelbyville Area Ambulance Service.
Mrs. Price was born on September 7, 1917 in Cisne, Illinois, the daughter of Homer and Clara Trotter Milner. She was a graduate of Farina High School Class of 1935 and Sparks Business College in 1936. She was employed as a secretary in the federal government, Washington, DC from 1937-1938, and the Shelby County Health Department in the1960’s. She was last employed as a real estate agent by Gaddis Realty in Shelbyville. She was a member of the South Second Street Church of Christ in Shelbyville and Church of Christ at Dale City, Woodbridge, Virginia. She married Maurice R. Price on August 27, 1938 in Olney, Illinois. He died on November 23, 2001 in Manassas, Virginia.
Surviving are her son, CAPT. Joseph M. Price USN (Ret) and wife Carole of Manassas, VA; daughter, Judith C. Brown and husband Jim of West Valley City, UT; son-in-law, Larry V. Marks of Raleigh, NC; sister, Louise Price and husband Forrest of Shelbyville, IL; sister-in-law, Elaine Milner of Downers Grove, IL; seven grandchildren, Jennifer L. (Price) Shelton of Holly Lake, TX, Douglas C. Price of Fredericksburg, VA, Gregory J. Price of Manassas, VA, Kawiki Coelho of Wahiawa, HI, Uilani (Coelho) Matavao of Magna, UT, Victor Marks of Raleigh, NC and Daniel Marks of Cary, NC; and twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Maurice; daughter, Janet M. Marks in April 2005; two brothers, Harmon and Howard Milner; one sister, Ethel Chandler; one son-in-law; and one great grandson.
