Neal F Atteberry
(October 12, 1936 – May 24, 2017)
Memorial graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, near Shelbyville, IL, with Rev. Greg Breeden officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Neal was born on October 12, 1936 in South Fork Twp., Christian County, Illinois, the son of Fay and Eleanor (Pearson) Atteberry. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1955. Neal was a parts man for several auto dealerships in Florida and Springfield, IL. He married Marilyn Cochran of Cowden, IL and they had two children, Mitchell Atteberry of Springfield, MO and Karen Atteberry of Jacksonville, FL. He later married Roberta M. “Bert” (Hancock) Yeaman on August 24, 1990. She died December 28, 2010.
He is survived by his two children, Mitchell and Karen; two step-children, Arnold Yeaman and Mickey Hinman both of New Berlin, IL; sister, Dixie Furr and husband Wayne of Shelbyville, IL: two brothers, John Atteberry and wife Sue of Decatur, IL and Jim Atteberry and wife Dianne of Shelbyville, IL; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents; wife, Roberta “Bert”; and half-sister, June Goebel.
