Neva G Pikesh

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Strasburg with Rev. Steven Becker officiating. Visitation one hour before services in the church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg. Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Strasburg.

Neva was born on April 1, 1928 in Strasburg, Illinois, the daughter of Henry Fred and Clara Catherine Kull Buesking. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Strasburg. She married William Junior Pikesh on February 23, 1947. He died on December 16, 1996.

Surviving are her sons, Derryl Pikesh and wife Sue of Strasburg and Kevin Pikesh and wife Patti of Springfield; daughter, Sheila Moran and husband Michael of Decatur; brother, Clarence Buesking and wife Bernice of Effingham; sisters-in-law, Neva Buesking of Strasburg, Genevieve Buesking of Shelbyville and Ruby Buesking and Ruth Reynolds both of Mattoon; six grandchildren, Derryn Pikesh of Geneseo, IL, Dawn Carter of Clarksville, TN, Lori Mathis of Strasburg, Jill Wilson of Nixa, MO, Neil Pikesh of Strasburg and Toni Moran of Winston-Salem, NC; two great granddaughters; and six great grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; five brothers, Lloyd, Curtis, Ervin, Eugene and Carl Buesking; sister, Helen Schmitt; brother-in-law, Clark Schmitt; and sister-in-law, Clara Buesking.
