Nicolaas V. Wools, 66, of Shelbyville, formerly of Windsor, died at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Pastor Jason Shults officiating. Visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the Shelbyville Garden Club/Memorial Sunken Garden Project.

Mr. Wools was born on December 29, 1944 in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Ernest William and Johanna Fredrica Marcin Wools. He was the former transportation director for the Windsor School District and served as pastor of the Windsor Baptist Church for 26 years. Nicolaas was a member of the Windsor Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1964-1970. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, reading and watching hockey. He married Suzanne Goldy on August 14, 1965.

Surviving are his wife, Suzanne; sons, Brian Wools of Shelbyville and Matthew Wools and wife Christina of Springfield; daughters, Christine Bryan and husband Eldon of Forsyth and Jennifer Ross of Elmhurst; sisters, Elisabeth DeBaun and husband Donald of Suwanee, GA and Bonnie Dorsett and husband Larry and Diann Wright and husband Stephen all of Indianapolis, IN; and six grandchildren, Blake and Sierra Bryan, Jacob and Jared Wools and Olivia and Dillon Ross.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Leah Ann Wools.
