Norma H Wakefield

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 17, 2007, at the First Christian Church of Shelbyville with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Christian Church, 202 S. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565. Howe & Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville is in charge of arrangements.
Norma was born February 19, 1919, in Lawrenceville, IL, daughter of H. Fred and Mina Scranton Hollman. She married Paul V. Wakefield on January 1, 1946. She earned degrees with high honors in English and Latin at Eastern Illinois University. She had been a member of the First Christian Church in Shelbyville for many years where she participated in the choir and worked as a part-time secretary. She later served as a librarian in the Shelbyville School System.
Norma Wakefield is survived by sons Clyde (Sally) of Crystal Lake, IL, and Ross (Ardith) of Lemont, IL, and grandchildren Lindsay, Randi, and Jim.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Paul on July 30, 2005.
