Olive M Small

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2017 in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp and Rev. Wray Offermann officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Sunday in the church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Shelbyville or Cancer Care Center in Decatur, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.

Olive was born on March 3, 1928 in Witt, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Agnes Lambi (Muir) Woodhouse, Sr. She graduated from Nokomis High School in the Class of 1946 and Sparks Business College in Shelbyville in 1947. Olive was a bookkeeper for Dowler’s Implement Company and later for Largent Equipment both in Shelbyville, IL. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville, IL. Olive married Robert D. Small on October 9, 1948. He died on July 24, 2001.

She is survived by her son, Gary Dean Small and wife Keri of Albuquerque, NM; daughters, Janice Sue Small of Shelbyville, IL and Jean Ann Witt and husband Jim of Windsor, CO; sister, Donna Epley and husband Larry of Pana, IL; sister-in-law, Wanda Woodhouse of O’Fallon, MO; grandchildren, Roy Small, Jenny Small, Brianne Wittenauer and husband Andrew, Nicole Curtis and husband Michael, and Emily Witt; two great grandchildren (identical twins) to be born in May 2018; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; brothers, Roland Woodhouse and wife Enid, Bruce Woodhouse and wife Shirley, and Harry Woodhouse, Jr.; sisters, Betty Szymecko and husband Walter and Dorothy O’Malley and husband Ernie; and infant twin siblings Harry and Agnes Woodhouse.
