Opal L. Durbin, 70, of Tower Hill, went to be with the Lord at 4:40 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2006 in Heritage Manor, Pana.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, (April 14, 2006) in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Greg Breeden officiating. Visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, near Shelbyville.

Mrs. Durbin was born on February 16, 1936 in Fancher, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Anna Mae Rentfro Riley. Mrs. Durbin was a homemaker who enjoyed fishing, gardening and going to rummage sales. She married William J. “Bill” Durbin on June 11, 1955.

She is loved and will be missed dearly by her surviving husband, Bill; sons, Joseph W. Durbin and wife Aleshia of Oconee, William D. “Bill” Durbin and Tina of Pana and Charles Mike Durbin and wife Jana of Shelbyville; daughter, Sherry M. Smith and husband Vernon of Pana; brothers, Jimmy Riley of Shelbyville and Melvin West Decatur; sisters, Barb Gillespey of Decatur and Marsha Herboth of Effingham; grandchildren, Sarah Wood and husband Tim of Oconee, Jeremy Durbin and wife Becky of Oconee, Crystal Durbin of Tower Hill, Samantha Smith of Pana, Billy Durbin of Pana, Brian Durbin of Florida, Scott Durbin of Oconee, Seth Durbin, Andrew Durbin, Camryn Durbin all of Shelbyville; and 14 great grandchildren..

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Riley; mother, Anna M. Lentz in 2004; brothers, Darrel and David Riley; and granddaughter, Carlie Maxine Durbin.
