Patricia G. Pilcher,
74, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 7:18 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2021 in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.
PATRICIA ANN MACK GRIFFITH PILCHER, known as “Patty” was born on July 27, 1946, in the greater New York Metropolitan area of New York, the daughter of Edward J. and Anne (Fait) Mack, where she spent her early life and most of her education ensued.
Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL, before traveling in procession to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Shelbyville with Father Pawel Augustyniak as Celebrant. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Saving Orphaned Animals or donor’s choice.
Patty graduated from St. Mary School of Nursing in 1967 in Hoboken, New Jersey, and it became her foundation of a life-time of education and improving the lives of others. She graduated from several colleges with degrees and numerous certificates focused on health care administration and education. She married in 1974 to Aubrey Lee Griffith and his engineer career enabled them to live several places in America and abroad. Numerous volunteer positions, most remembered were the Red Cross, Salvation Army, and CASA. As one of the Hospital Administrators in Saudi Arabia for fifteen years, she was able to facilitate a 40 bed-hospital to grow to 450 beds, which improved the delivery of health care. She thoroughly enjoyed being an administrator or a nurse educator during a span of 41 years.
Aubrey passed away in 2005. A second marriage to Loren R. Pilcher in 2006 gave Patty a new avocation of modernization and administration of a small farm in Clay County. Loren passed away in 2017. She is the sole-owner of Pilcher Farms, a successful small farm. Patty is a member of the Illinois Farm Bureau. She has been a life-time world traveler and has circled the world nine times, loved life and embraced all people and places. Patty also enjoyed writing short stories or articles, reading, and time with her two cats, Anna and Ozzy.
Patty is survived by her dear friend and companion, Ricky Voyles of Shelbyville, seven step-children, Diane Beam Griffith of Salt Lake City, Utah, Lee Ryder Griffith of San Pedro, California, Marjorie Pilcher Barnes (Don) of Greenup, IL, David (Carol) Pilcher of Louisville, KY, Jerry (Kathy) Pilcher of Bible Grove, IL, Barbara Pilcher Painter (Lee) of Effingham, IL, and Brian (Brandi) Pilcher of Altamont, IL; she had twenty-two step-grandchildren; thirty-one step great-grandchildren; and one step great-great grandson; sister, Barbara Mack Livorsi; brother, Edward Mack; and many step-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both husbands, Aubrey Lee Griffith and Loren R. Pilcher; parents; and brother, Gerard Mack.
