Paul E Juhnke

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2011 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Strasburg with Rev. Steven Becker officiating. Visitation from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Strasburg, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Strasburg. Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, St. Paul’s Cemetery Fund or Strasburg Lions Club.
Mr. Juhnke was born on November 23, 1930 in Richland Twp. of Shelby County, Illinois, the son of William V. and Florence Stremming Juhnke. He was a graduate of Windsor High School in the Class of 1948. He owned and operated Juhnke Feed Mill in Strasburg until his retirement. Paul was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Strasburg, St. Paul’s Men’s Club, Strasburg Lions Club and a past Strasburg Village Board Member. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Illini. He married Dorothy L. Doeding on August 21, 1949.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Debra K. Richards and husband Mark of Stewardson and Marcia L. Thomas of Strasburg; brother, Guy Juhnke and wife Frieda of Effingham; granddaughters, Sarah Wyckoff and husband Ryan of Tuscola, Laura Thomas and husband Dave of Troy, Amy Thomas of Urbana and Katie Thomas of Glen Carbon; and great grandchildren, Leo and Maddux Wyckoff and Ava and Maleah Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
