Paul E Ragan
(October 12, 1918 – June 28, 2010)
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 4, 2010 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Robert Turner officiating. Visitation from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Shelbyville with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
Mr. Ragan was born on October 12, 1918 in Shelbyville, Illinois, the son of Ernest C. and Hazel F. Yencer Ragan. He graduated from Shelbyville High School and was a U. S. Army veteran of WW II. Paul was a retired farmer. He married Rowena Jane Duggins on May 3, 1947. She died on February 16, 1992.
Surviving are his children, Don Ragan of Shelbyville, IL, Larry Ragan of Forest, VA and Paula Ragan of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Mary Merrell of Locust Grove, VA; and one granddaughter, Brandi Ragan of Milan, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rowena Jane; and three sisters, Irma Sutherland, Thelma Shaffer and Beulah McKim.
