Pauline Mae Boehm, 95, of Westervelt, IL, went peacefully to her Heavenly Home at 5:55 a.m. Sunday, December 20, 2020 in her residence.

A graveside service for family and friends will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2020 in Findlay Cemetery, Findlay, IL with Rev. Roger Quarton officiating. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Westervelt Christian Church and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Pauline was born on August 30, 1925, the daughter of Elgar Glen and Ida Mae (Keown) Allen, west of Bethany, in Shelby County, Illinois. At the age of three, her family moved to a farm one mile west of St. Mary’s Church. In 1935 they moved to a farm southeast of Findlay. After graduating from Findlay High School as Valedictorian of the Class of 1944 and attending Eastern Illinois University, she taught at Cherry Grove and Foster school houses. After Donald Burl Johnson returned from serving his country during World War II, they married on January 5, 1946. They lived and farmed in the Findlay area until 1966 when Lake Shelbyville replaced the farmland. At this time they moved their family into Findlay. Pauline worked at Dillow’s Drug Store in Shelbyville, then owned and operated “3 Daughter’s Shop” in Findlay. Later she worked in the kitchen at Sullivan Health Care Center for 11 years. After retiring from there, she was Site Supervisor of Findlay Peace Meal and manager of Findlay Community Center from which she retired after 15 years. Donald Johnson passed away on January 31, 1994. Pauline married Glen Boehm on January 26, 1996 and moved to Westervelt, Illinois. Glen passed away on October 2, 2013.

Survivors include children, Glen Arthur Johnson of Findlay, Stanley Johnson and wife Barb of Shelbyville, Donna Oldham and husband Mike of Findlay, Kathy Swarms of Shelbyville, and Virginia Defend and husband Dan of Monticello; grandchildren, Alison Hubner and family of Shelbyville, Rachel LeJeune and family of Monticello, Brandon Swarms of Herrin, Illinois, Eric Defend and family of Monticello, Evan Defend of Monticello, and Emily Erickson and husband of Cisco, IL. She has 9 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She also has many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are step-children, Carol Wharmby of California, David Boehm and wife Sandy of Oreana, Mary Perry and husband Gary of Mattoon, Gerry Boehm and wife Teresa of Shelbyville, Janet Musser and husband Mike of Westervelt, Danny Boehm and wife Susan of Shelbyville, Larry Boehm and wife Sally of Shelbyville and Lisa Ballinger and husband Roger of Neoga. She has 20 step-grandchildren and 23 step-great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Betty Lambdin of Sullivan, brother, Kenneth Allen and wife Dara of Milstadt, and sister-in-law, Ann Allen of Arizona.

Pauline loved her family very much and they, along with many friends, loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Donald Johnson and Glen Boehm; grandsons, Douglas and David Johnson; great great grandson, Weston Hubner; step-son Thomas Boehm; and brothers, Paul Edward Allen, Bobby Allen and Harold Allen.
