Phyllis J. Muchow

Phyllis Jean Mucho w passed away on 8 June 2022 at the Lincoln Christian Village Nursing Home.

Private services were entrusted to Howe and Yockey Funeral Homes in Shelbyville, IL.  Memorials may be given to Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation, Lincoln, IL and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Phyllis was born on 29 September 1930, in Moweaqua, IL the daughter of Fred and Margaret Oldham.

She received her Registered Nurse Certificate on 7 September 1952 from the Memorial Hospital of Springfield School of Nursing and continued to excel within this career field until her retirement with over 40 years of dedicated service. During her time as a Registered Nurse she worked in Shelbyville, Springfield, and Lincoln, Illinois.

She married Iain Mack Crane on 5 November 1952 in Pana, IL and they remained together until his death living in Shelbyville, IL.

She married Paul Edward Gustav Muchow on 21 June 1974 in Benton, IL and he preceded her in death. They love traveling, seeing new places and spending the winters in Florida. Together they lived in Broadwell, IL for 30 years before moving to Lincoln, IL.

Phyllis loved traveling, antiquing, spending time in Florida, gardening, and visiting with friends and family members. During her later years she loved spending time playing slots at the local spots.

Phyllis enjoyed a full life until she contracted Covid-19 at which point she slowly declined, but never lost her spirit, stubbornness, or the desire to control her surroundings.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers; Robert Oldham of Washington, IL and Thomas Oldham of Lincoln, IL.
