R. Daniel Klauser
(August 25, 1949 – December 06, 2008)

R. Daniel “Danny” Klauser, 59, of Shelbyville died at 9:41 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008 in St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur.

Danny was born on August 25, 1949 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Robert G. and Flora Belle Wood Klauser. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1967 and Eastern Illinois University with a degree in Industrial Arts. Danny was well known through his association with the family business, Klauser Bros. Marine. The Klauser family has been in business in Shelbyville since 1882. Danny loved what he did. In the spring, you could always find him around the elms looking for the great mushroom patch. And if you’ve ever been to the shop and heard that clicking sound you knew he was deep in thought playing a game of chess. He and Jane enjoyed riding around the countryside on their red Honda Trike. He will be greatly missed. He was a member of the Shelby Christian Church, NRA and was loyal to the American Red Cross. He married Jane Louise Hanson in 1980.

Surviving are his wife, Jane; son, Jodie Klauser of Shelbyville; parents; Robert and Flora Belle Klauser of Shelbyville; sisters, Kathy Waseen and husband Bob of Bethany and Virginia Christine Cole of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Shauna, Seth and Stuart Klauser of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
