Ralph C Davis

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 29, 2016 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Lynette DeAtley officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Casual attire is requested. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, near Shelbyville, IL with Military Rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard.
Ralph was born August 4, 1929 in Clarksburg Township, Shelby County, IL, the son of Harland “Buzz” and Nettie Mae Mars Davis. He attended Sylvan School in Clarksburg Township. Ralph proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for A. E. Staley in Decatur, IL until his retirement. Ralph also enjoyed scrapping old cars, going to auctions and spending time with his family. He was a member of the NRA, VFW Post of Decatur, IL and was an animal lover. Ralph married Mildred Louise Doty on February 25, 1950 and she preceded him in death October 2, 2006.
He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Patton and husband Roy W. , Jr. of Decatur, IL and Linda Schollenbruch of Decatur, IL; brother, Ray F. Davis and wife Sue of New Castle, OK; three grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
