Randi Marie Gray Hostetler, 27 of Shelbyville, IL, died at 4:05 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015 in Vandalia, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2015 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to the Liam Hostetler Education Fund.

Randi was born on May 12, 1988 in Joplin, MO, the daughter of Everette Randall and DeAnn Marie Boyle Gray. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 2006 before attending Southern Illinois University. Randi then served in the United States Navy earning the rank of Electricians Mate. When she returned from the service, Randi worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Casey, IL. She continued her education at Lake Land College in Mattoon and also at Ashford University. Randi then became a Corrections Officer for the Illinois Department of Corrections in Vandalia, IL. She married Justin Robert Hostetler and they have one son, Liam. Randi loved spending time with Liam and her friends, Sadie Schloz and Todd Cloe. She also enjoyed carpentry, fixing things, and riding her bike with Liam. Randi was very independent and determined to give Liam the best life possible.

She is survived by her husband, Justin of Patuxent, MD; son, Liam Everett Hostetler of Shelbyville, IL; father, Everette Randall Gray of St. Louis, MO; mother, DeAnn Marie Cole (Mark) of Shelbyville, IL; brothers, Joshua Zachary “Zach” Boyle (Lacey Beeson) of Sullivan, IL, James “Levi” Cole of Joplin, MO, Dalton Burkhart of Bismarck, ND and Jimm Michael Cole of Shelbyville, IL, sister, Kodi Jo Cole of Amarillo, TX; grandparents, James Boyle of Maryville, IL and Barbara Lacy of Cowden, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Judith Ann Boyle and Shirley I. Bettis.
