Raymond R Kern

Raymond was born on March 26, 1940 in Vermilion Grove, IL, the son of Russell Lowell and Bethavene (Holland) Kern. He graduated from Georgetown High School the Class of 1958. Raymond went on to attend Olivet Nazarene College, where he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees. He then attended Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO and earned a second Master’s Degree. Raymond was a Nazarene minister for over 23 years, pastoring churches in Mt. Vernon, IL, Decatur, IL, and Racine, WI. He loved quilting, reading, computers, and helping people. Raymond married Mary “Jane” Norfleet on June 6, 1964.
He is survived by his wife, Jane of Shelbyville, IL; son, Aaron Kern of Shelbyville, IL; brother, Russell Lowell Kern (Samantha) of Minnesota; and loved by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and three brothers.
