Reatha I Roessler

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Synodically Authorized Minister, Marilyn Dudley officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Shelbyville or Lincolnland Hospice.
Reatha was born on July 24, 1920 in Prairie Township, Shelby County, IL, the daughter of John Carl and Maude Marie Moutrey Mietzner. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Shelbyville and a 60 year member of Moose Lodge Chapter 1325, Shelbyville. She married Paul Theodore Roessler on July 30, 1936. He died on January 6, 1983.
She is survived by her children, John “Jack” Roessler of Shelbyville, IL, Barbara Germann and husband John of Hamilton, MT, Jerry Roessler and wife Pat of Blissfield, MI and Jill Wade of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Edna Stanbough and husband Tom of Springfield, OH; 17 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and 36 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul T. Roessler; daughter, Nellie I. Davis; brothers, Dale and Paul Mietzner; and sister, Edith Wascher.
