Retha Irene Agney, 87, of Shelbyville, died at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, April 29, 2007 in Shelbyville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. David McHenry officiating. Visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to Shelbyville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center or Donor’s Choice.

Retha was born on March 29, 1920 in Fancher, Illinois, the daughter of Ira and Minerva Jane Chism Milligan. She was a baptized in the Tower Hill Christian Church. Retha worked at Sta-Rite Ginnie Lou, Inc. and later Guy’s Steakhouse both in Shelbyville. She enjoyed crocheting. She married Harley Lester Agney on September 16, 1937. He died on September 17, 1989.

Surviving are her sons, Robert D. Agney and wife Carole of Decatur, Harley L. Agney, Jr. of Shelbyville and Larry Agney and wife Rosetta of Shelbyville; daughter, Rose Eigsti and husband Roy of Shelbyville; brothers, James Milligan of Tower Hill and Gene Milligan and wife Blanche of Tucson, Arizona; sisters, Betty Dilley of Shelbyville and Dorothy Bond and husband Scott LeRoy of Spring Hill, FL; ten grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Charles, Bill, Ira Jr., and Roy Dean Milligan; sister, Violet Shelton; and one grandson.
