Retha M Brehmer

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in Grace Lutheran Church, Strasburg with Rev. Michael Mohr officiating. Visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday in the church. Burial will be in Grace Cemetery, Strasburg. Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church, Strasburg, Grace/St. Paul’s Church Lutheran Youth Fellowship or Strasburg United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Brehmer was born on September 18, 1922 in Strasburg, the daughter of Edgar William and Anna M. Spannagel Doehring. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Strasburg, where she was active in Ladies Aid and the Fellowship Club. She married Charles William Brehmer on February 5, 1944. He died on December 11, 1995.
Surviving are her son, Gary Brehmer and wife Mary Lou of Strasburg; daughter, Shary Yakey and husband John of Stewardson; sister, Lona Wittenberg and husband Paul of Stewardson; grandchildren, Michelle Ellis and husband Justin of Emden, Jennifer Bible and husband Kurt of Stewardson, Kathlyn Yakey of Stewardson, Seth Brehmer of Sigel and Zed Brehmer of Strasburg; and sisters-in-law, Jean Brehmer of Richmond, VA and Marilyn Hall of Midwest City, OK.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; granddaughter, Courtney Elizabeth Brehmer and brothers-in-law, Morris Brehmer and Russell Hall.
