Retha M. (Kull) Price, 85, of Shelbyville, died at 5:40 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2006 in Shelbyville Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Shelbyville with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp officiating. Visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Shelbyville Booster Foundation.

Retha was born on February 25, 1921 in Strasburg, the daughter of Albert Benjamin and Alvena Augusta Falk Kull. Her parents managed the Shelby County Poor Farm where she lived from age four until she married in 1940. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1939 and then Chrysler Beauty School in Decatur. She owned and operated Retha’s Beauty Shoppe in Shelbyville for 60 years. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Shelbyville, member and former president of the Queen City Bowling Association and lifetime member of the Illinois Women’s Bowling Association for over 50 years. She was an avid bowler and Cub fan. She married James Noel Price on October 18, 1940 in Shelbyville. He died on September 23, 1994.

Surviving are her daughters, Theresa (Bill) Pesch and Carol (Jake) Cole all of Shelbyville; four grandchildren, Penny (Jeff) Standerfer of Shelbyville, Chris Pesch of Shelbyville, Benjamin (Amy) Cole of Springfield and Jill (Clayton) Miller of Shelbyville; seven great grandchildren, Nathan Standerfer, Savanah Pesch, Stella Cole, Malcolm Miller, Rosa Cole, Mason Miller and Gaige Pesch; and two step-grandchildren, Heath Standerfer and Ashley Standerfer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Woodrow Kull; and sister, Helen Firnhaber.
