Richard D Hostetler

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2015 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Pastor John Curtis officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Save Our Chautauqua.
Mr. Hostetler was born on May 27, 1943 in Shelby County, IL, the son of Daniel D. and Lydia (Reber) Hostetler. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1961. Richard married Ginnie L. Connelly on June 27, 1964 in Shelbyville, IL. He worked at Connelly’s Building Center in Shelbyville, managing the pallet yard, prior to starting his own business, H & C Electric. Richard attended Cornerstone Community Fellowship Church in Shelbyville, IL.
He is survived by his wife, Ginnie Hostetler; daughters, Rebecca (Tyson) Mahnke and Elizabeth Hawkins both of Shelbyville, IL; grandchildren, Sydney (Brandon) Blades, Andrew Hawkins, Victoria Honigman, Katherine Honigman and Alex Hawkins; great grandson, Todd Blades; sister, June (Luke) Drescher of Harrisonburg, VA; mother-in-law, Virginia Connelly of Shelbyville, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jean Krall and her husband Richard; brother, Jim Hostetler and his wife Nancy; father-in-law, Robert Connelly; and brother-in-law, Scott Connelly.
