Richard D Kneller

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Memorials may be given to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or the National Kidney Foundation.
Richard as born on October 13, 1939 in Shelbyville, Illinois, the son of Clyde Lucien “Pete” and Nellie Violet (Anderson) Kneller. He attended Shelbyville High School and was a member of the Class of 1957. Richard worked for Firestone in Decatur for 35 years before his retirement. He previously was a mechanic at Northtown Ford in Decatur, IL. Richard was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Shelbyville, IL and enjoyed mushroom hunting and watching his grandchildren’s activities. He married Rosemary Stirrett on March 12, 1961.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; daughters, Sarah Kuhns (Paul) of Arthur, IL, and Lori Sellers (James) of Coldwater, MS; son, Richard D. Kneller, Jr. (Amy) of Cape Cod, MA; brother, Robert Kneller (Shirley) of Shelbyville, IL; and seven grandchildren, Megan, Nicole, and Tory Kuhns, Samantha Furr (fiancé, Stephen Hummel), Erin Furr, Zacc Brachbill and Trey Kneller.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Johnny Kneller; sisters, Lou Ann Hinton and Linnie Campbell.
