Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 3, 2012 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Dan Eloe and Rev. Adam Hubbartt officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday with Masonic rites at 7:00 p.m. by the Jackson Masonic Lodge #53 of Shelbyville, IL. Burial will be in Findlay Cemetery, Findlay, IL with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to Saving Orphaned Animals, 120 S. Morgan, Shelbyville, IL 62565.
Richard was born on July 23, 1932 in Waukegan, Illinois, the son of Ira George and Lola Margaret Huffer Hubbartt. He graduated from Findlay High School in the Class of 1950. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. Richard worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in Decatur, IL for 51 1/2 years, retiring in 2007. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville, IL, Findlay Masonic Lodge #831 and UAW Local 751 of Decatur, IL. He married Callie Marie Craft on June 9, 1961 and she preceded him in death. He married Jocelyn C. Beasley Eubanks on February 26, 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Jocelyn; son, Don Hubbartt and wife Glenda of Findlay, IL; step-daughters, Devona Eubanks of Decatur, IL and June L. Eubanks of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Jason Hubbartt and wife Ashley of Cameron, NC and Erica Hubbartt of Shelbyville, IL; step-grandchildren, Maverick Welton of Findlay, IL, Savon Eubanks, Gerald Plato, Jr., GeDarrion Plato, Kiara Bond and Jaydiona Eubanks all of Decatur, IL and Travail Carothers, Tatyana Eubanks, Tyron Carothers and Tyler Carothers all of Des Moines, IA; great grandchildren, Kaleigh and Maddox Hubbartt of Cameron, NC and Alana and Owen McKittrick of Shelbyville, IL; step-great granddaughter, Layla Carothers of Des Moines, IA; brothers, Morris Hubbartt and wife Luella of Pana, IL and Robert Hubbartt and wife Rita of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Mayme Matlock of Shelbyville, IL; and mother-in-law, Willie Mae Beasley of Decatur, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Verne Matlock; and sister-in-law, Ruth Hubbartt.
