Rick Sutherland

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery in Effingham. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville, Illinois. Memorials may be given to the American Liver Society or the American Cancer Society.
Rick was born on April 8, 1954 in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Doit and Shirley Lee Klasing Sutherland. He worked in industrial construction.
Surviving are his daughter, Jessica Lee Handel and husband David of Thompson, Illinois; parents, Doit and Shirley Sutherland of Shelbyville; nephew, Dillon Sutherland of Savoy; Illinois; great nephew, Maddix Sutherland of Savoy; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Miranda K. Sutherland in 2003; and brother, Douglas L. Sutherland in 2008.
