Rita Rose Hubbartt, 74, of Shelbyville, died at 3:21 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2013 in her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Pastor Don Jefferies officiating. Visitation from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before services on Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Mid-America Preparatory School or the First Assembly of God Church Youth.

Rita was born on March 6, 1938 in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Oran “Bud” and Louise Tynan Miller. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1956. Rita had a vibrant personality and never knew a stranger. Rita once said the most important job in her life was being a wife and mother. Her success shined through her five sons. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Shelbyville. Rita was active in the Pencil Pals Program of C.E.F.S. and organized events for the Shelbyville High School Class of 1956. She was also a volunteer secretary for Mid-America Preparatory School in Herrick, IL. Rita married Jack Allen on June 7, 1958. He died on August 10, 1984. She married Bob Hubbartt on December 26, 1987.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; sons, Michael Allen, Mark Allen and Bradley Allen all of Antioch, TN, Brian Allen and wife Shannon of Shelbyville, IL and Rick Allen and wife Jennifer of Vandalia, IL; step-children, Bill Hubbartt and wife Laurie, Robin Bear and husband Mike and Debbie Carr and husband Mike all of Findlay, IL; brother, Roger Miller and wife Cathy of Shelbyville, IL; sisters, Janean Stretch of Hillsboro, IL, Veda Woods and husband Kenneth of Shelbyville, IL and Judy Pollard and husband Ron of Shelbyville, IL; 22 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Jack Allen; grandson, Zachary Hubbartt; brother-in-law, Dale Stretch; and nephew, Rodney Stephens.
