Robert Rose
(September 17, 1920 – March 15, 2010)
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Dan Eloe officiating. Visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville or the American Heart Association.
Mr. Rose was born on September 17, 1920 in Exie, Kentucky, the son of Henry and Martha Rose. He moved to Shelbyville to work with the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) prior to serving in the U.S. Army in WW II. He worked for many years for the Oliver Corporation in Shelbyville and as an employee of the Shelbyville School District. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and Roy Vanderpool American Legion Post # 81 both in Shelbyville. He married Lora F. Hudson on December 25, 1941. She died on June 5, 2002.
Surviving are his son, C. Robert Rose of Lebanon, PA; grandsons, Bryan Rose of Lebanon, PA and Phillip Rose of Annville, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lora; parents; three brothers, Oscar, Ulis and Arvin Rose; and three sisters, Dora Jones, Bessie Hauck and Eva Cincebox.
