In keeping with Rev. Litteral’s wishes, no services are planned. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral home, Shelbyville, IL. Burial will be at a later date in Grandview Cemetery, Paris, IL. Memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Church of Shelbyville, IL.
Rev. Litteral was born on June 30, 1930 in Paris, IL, the son of George and Mary Jane Henson Litteral. He graduated from Paris High School in the Class of 1949 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Eureka College. Rev. Litteral came to Shelbyville and held the first candlelight service at the First Christian Church on December 24, 1957 and began his official ministry for the church in January 1958. He attended the First Presbyterian Church of Shelbyville, IL. He married Norma L. Kelley on August 7, 1954.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; sons, Stephen E. Litteral of Decatur, IL and Scott R. Litteral of Arthur, IL; daughter, Stacy A. Ulm of Auburn, IL; four grandchildren, Michael (Rachel) Litteral, Brian (Kati) Litteral, Spencer Litteral, and Samantha Ulm; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; two sisters; and a daughter, Roberta Litteral.
