Robert L. "Bob" Wood

Robert L. “Bob” Wood, 84, of Tower Hill, IL, passed away at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2025, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. 

Robert was born on July 7, 1940, in Windsor, IL, the son of Donald and Louise (Kasey) Wood. He graduated from Tower Hill High School in the Class of 1958. Bob married Janis M. Glick on May 30, 1958. Robert and Janis were blessed with three children, Katrina, Brian and Valerie, seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. He worked as a rural mail carrier in Tower Hill for 55 years, retiring in 2016. Bob also owned and operated Century Tractor Parts in Tower Hill. 

He is survived by his wife, Janis; children, Katrina (Kent) Griffith and Brian (Ramona) Wood all of Tower Hill, IL; son-in-law, Randy Willmore of Fairview, TN; sister, Jeanie Shuff of Mode, IL; grandchildren, Megan (Matt) Cagle and Rachel (Bryan) Bell all of Washington, IL, Hannah (Zach) Jepsen of Champaign, IL, Quincy (Whitney) Wood of Shelbyville, IL, Kassandra (Tyler Smith) Willmore of Nashville, TN, and Logan (Anna) Willmore of Cleveland, TN; and great grandchildren, Micah and Morgan Cagle, Ryleigh and Dylan Bell, Harper Jepsen, and Ephram and Addison Wood. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Victor and Sarah (Godfrey) Glick; daughter, Valerie Willmore; grandson, Blake Robert Wood; and brother-in-law, Kenny Shuff. 

The family of Robert Wood will host a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the Tower Hill Christian Church, 103 Ontario Street, Tower Hill, IL 62571. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with a short service at 7:00 p.m. A time of fellowship will follow in the church gym. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Tower Hill Fire Department or the Tower Hill First Responders and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.
