Robert Edward Zoltowski, 89, of Shelbyville, IL, formerly of Blue Island, IL, passed away at 1:58 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in Shelbyville Healthcare and Senior Living.
Burial with military rites will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, near Springfield, IL. Arrangements are being handled by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.
Robert was born on December 1, 1935, in Chicago, IL, the son of Peter and Eva (Chacapk) Zoltowski. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Robert was a switchman for the Wabash Railroad and later served as Chief of the Fire Department in Dixmoor, IL. He married Joan Marie Klich and she preceded him in death on October 20, 2015.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen Wright of Decatur, IL; grandchildren, Heather Ingram and Tiffany Hancock (Brock); great grandchildren, Brody and Tailyn Hancock; sister-in-law, Loretta Brzinski; niece, Jennifer Klimowski (Brian); and great niece, Alissa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joan Marie Zoltowski; and stepfather, Henry Keithyka.
