Rodney Roy Stephens, 47, of Shelbyville, IL, died at 2:44 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2012 in Shelby Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 24, 2012 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday and one hour before services on Friday. Casual attire is requested. Masonic rites will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday by Jackson Masonic Lodge #53. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Rodney was born on August 12, 1964 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Ronald “Clem” and Judy Miller Stephens. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1982. Rodney was a pipefitter foreman for Jacobs Field Service in Decatur, IL. He was a member of Jackson Masonic Lodge #53 of Shelbyville, Shelby County Shrine Club and Old River Chapter of A.B.A.T.E. in Shelbyville. Rodney enjoyed his dogs, hunting, riding his motorcycle and watching drag racing. He married Marlow Jean Mount on January 17, 1984.

He is survived by his wife, Marlow; daughter, Marissa Metzger (Brad) of Moweaqua, IL; sons, Randy Stephens (Nina), Roger Stephens (Heather), Roderick “Reece” Stephens and Rodney “Rance” Stephens all of Shelbyville, IL; father, Ronald “Clem” Stephens (Pat) of Shelbyville; mother, Judy Pollard (Ron) of Shelbyville; sisters, Chris Walker (Rick) of Shelbyville, IL, LaDonna Yandell (Jeff) of Frankfort, IN, Hillary Stephens of Effingham, IL and Cindy Wiback of Windsor, IL; brothers, Roger Stephens of Shelbyville, IL, Ronnie Stephens (Cami) of Olney, IL, R.J. Pollard (Nora) of Mt. Auburn, IL, Andy Stephens of Effingham, IL and Robert Smith of Shelbyville, IL; and grandkids, Michael Hinton, Rylan Stephens, Madden Metzger, Mabry Metzger and Gracelyn Stephens.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oran “Bud” and Louise Miller and Ralph and Bonnie Stephens.
