Roger B. Forcum

Roger B. Forcum, 63, of Mode, IL, passed away at 4:40 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020 in his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Howe Cemetery near Mode, IL, with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Shelby County Honor Guard or Saving Orphaned Animals and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.
Roger was born on January 9, 1957 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of John and Emma Margaret (Smith) Forcum. He graduated from Cowden-Herrick High School in the Class of 1975. Roger served as a welder in the U.S. Navy from 1980 until his retirement in 2001. He returned home and farmed near Mode, IL for 19 years. Roger enjoyed farming and mushroom hunting. He was a member of Roy Vanderpool American Legion Post #81 of Shelbyville, IL. Roger married Jo-Ellyn Yancy on February 20, 1993 in Middleburg, FL.
He is survived by his wife, Jo-Ellyn; son, Brian Forcum (Andrea) of Shelbyville, IL; daughter, Jennifer Loveland (Andy) of Castle Rock, CO; brothers, Ted Forcum (Karen) of Mode, IL and Dan Forcum (Jackie ) of Mode, IL; sister, Connie Weston (Robert) of North Port FL; four grandchildren, Brycen Forcum, and Olivia, Layla and Connor Loveland; “granddaughter”, Jordyn Hill of Kansas City, MO; and several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Scott Forcum and Brad Forcum; and sisters, Lula Lester and Amy Jo Donnel.
