Roger was born on July 15, 1940 in Cowden, IL, the son of David Elihu and Mildred Juanita (Kite) Blickem. He graduated from Cowden High School in the Class of 1958. Roger farmed and was also a machinist at International Paper in Shelbyville, IL. He married Barb S. Nelson on August 22, 1986. Roger enjoyed dancing, hunting, yardwork and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Barb; sons, Lyle “Rusty” Blickem of Teutopolis, IL and Hank Blickem of Pana, IL; daughters, Marla O’Neil (Larry) of Gould City, MI and Crystal Reynolds of Shelbyville, IL; brothers, Raleigh “Bus” Blickem of Texas, Larry Blickem (Charlotte) of Cowden, IL and Terry Blickem (Kathy) of Clinton, IL; sister, Bonnie Burkhead (Ron) of Cowden, IL; grandchildren, Tiffiny Golding, Kip Blickem (Erica), Nikki Tucker (Blake), Kory Blickem, Travis Reynolds, Tanaya Thoele (Troy); great grandchildren, Kaytlin Tucker, Benton Blickem, Gracee Tucker, Gabby Golding, Kinley Reynolds, Kael Thoele, Kade Thoele, Taten Thoele and Jaxten Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bradley; and siblings, Faye, Artie, Tex and David.
