Roland Smith
(January 17, 1938 – October 29, 2013)
Howe and Yockey Funeral Home of Shelbyville, IL, welcomes friends and family to celebrate Roland’s life on Saturday, November 2, 2013. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service, officiated by Pastor Don Wallace, at 2:30 p.m. Burial will take place in Windsor Cemetery and memorials may be given to Compassion International or Effingham Assembly, of which Roland was a member.
Roland was born on January 17, 1938 in Schenectady, NY. After serving in the United States Army, Roland became a truck driver for the United Parcel Service, retiring after 33 years of service. Roland married Shirley D. Maxey on June 7, 1965. Shirley passed away on August 2, 1996.
Roland is survived by dear friend, Audrey Lucas of Findlay, IL, sons Anthony Dahm and wife Kymberli and Douglas Dahm and wife Melissa, as well as his brother, Hal, and his sister, Janice. Roland was blessed with four grandchildren, Andrew, Teresa, Brian, and Tyler Dahm.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents and wife, of 31 years, Shirley.
