Ronald B McKenzie
(October 12, 1938 – September 16, 2018)
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 21, 2018 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL with military rites by Shelby Co. Honor Guard. Memorial may be given to American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
Ronald was born on October 12, 1938 in Bement, IL, the son of Norman E. and Ales B. (Musser) McKenzie. He was a graduate of Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1957 and was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked for Robert Lively Construction in Shelbyville for many years. He later worked as a custodian for Shelbyville Community Unit School District #4 until his retirement. Ronald enjoyed fishing, gardening, and going to garage sales and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
He is survived by his sister, Sandra Mosbey and husband Ben of Grand Junction, CO; sisters-in-law, LaVonna McKenzie of Scottsdale, AZ, Sonja McKenzie of Valdosta, GA and Linda McKenzie of Shelbyville, IL; uncle, Walt McKenzie of Mattoon, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Stanley, Gary, Phillip and Keith McKenzie; and sister, Joan McKenzie.
