Rosemarie “Vicki” Newhart, 90, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 3:55 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2019 in Hawthorne Inn Assisted Living, Shelbyville, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. David Middleton officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Edgar Cemetery, Paris, IL. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville, IL or the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.

Vicki was born on June 19, 1928 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Kedge and Helen Ruth (Bush) Vicory. She graduated from Paris High School the Class of 1946. Vicki married Edward Eugene Newhart on July 2, 1946. Vicki was employed by CIPS for over 25 years, serving in Paris, Paxton, Charleston and Mattoon, where she worked as cashier, bookkeeper, stenographer and drafter. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville, IL, Red Hat Society, Garden Club, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and Mattoon Top Spinners and Charleston Swing and Swayers Square Dance Clubs. She and her husband, Ed, ran the Mom and Pops Square Dance Shop in Mattoon, IL for many years. Vicki enjoyed gardening, china painting, sewing, crocheting, traveling with Ed, and taking care of and playing with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Randy Newhart (Chris) of Rockford, IL and Rick Newhart (Cathy) of Carterville, IL; daughter, Kimberly Sparks (Jim) of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Tillie Marshall of Leesburg, FL; five grandchildren, Michelle Newhart, Matt Newhart, Ryan Newhart, Skylar Sparks and Alex Sparks; and five great grandchildren, Max, Harrison, Liam, Ronan, and Isla Newhart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward on November 24, 2009; and daughter, Rhonda L. Newhart.
