Roy Brock Fisher, 92, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 1:25 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 in his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018 in the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville with Rev. Tim Yankee officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Casual attire is requested. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in Maplewood Cemetery, St. Elmo, IL with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.

Brock was born on February 15, 1926 in Coalgate, OK, the son of Birl O. and Bessie Mae (Wright) Fisher. He graduated from Brownstown High School the Class of 1944 and was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II. Brock was an oilfield worker for Exxon until his retirement. Brock was an expert woodworker and ran Fisher’s Wood Shop for 25 years. He loved hunting and fishing and spending as much time as he could with his family. Brock was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed attending the Exxon Annuitant’s Club each month. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville, IL and the Roy Vanderpool American Legion Post #81. Brock married Madelon M. Hart on June 22, 1945.

He is survived by his wife, Madelon; son, G. Claude Fisher and wife Rita of Velma, OK; daughter, Angela Hagan and husband Cork of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Betty Philpot of Vandalia, IL; grandchildren, Nikki Stauffer and husband Bryan, Danny Fisher, Carla Hymes and husband Clint, Christine Preston and husband Chris and Philip Fisher; and great grandchildren, Austin Fisher, Ashtin Fisher, Ethan Fisher, Brian Bonick, Matthew Bonick, Kevin Stauffer, Ashley Hymes, Stephanie Preston, Anne Preston and Heath Preston.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Fisher; and brother, Claude Fisher.
