Roy L Hanson

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2011 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Greg Breeden and Rev. Ron Tucker officiating. Visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to the First Church of the Nazarene or Gideon’s International.
Mr. Hanson was born on March 29, 1949 in Champaign, IL, the son of Wilbur William and Leona Pauline Collins Hanson. He was a Disabled U. S. Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. He and his wife Doris owned and operated Han-Son Company in Shelbyville. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Gideon’s International and a member of the former Shelbyville Free Methodist Church. He married Doris McDonald Storm on November 2, 1974 in Shelbyville.
Surviving are his wife, Doris; children, Ed Storm of Shelbyville, Rich Storm (Suellen) of Shelbyville, Doug Storm of Normal, Nancy Wheat (Terry) of Shelbyville, Christopher Hanson of Chicago, John Hanson of Shelbyville, Misty Burger (Kenneth) of Altamont and James Hanson (Nikki) of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Jason, Trevor and Natalie Storm, Jennifer Storm McCullough, Carla Storm Luther, Travis, Adrienne and Tyler Wheat, Kyloni and Zen Hanson, Taylor and Shaylee Davis, Nick, Tyler, A.J., Joshua and Heather Burger and Paige; and great grandchildren, Madelyn and Katelyn McCullough, Alivia Storm and Addison Wright.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Dar Shiley; sister, Debbie Crossen; granddaughter, Laura Storm; and niece Chay Marie Crossen.
