Ruby Webb

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to Gideon Bibles.
Mrs. Webb was born on March 13, 1913 in Sevier County, Tennessee, the daughter of Asa and Sarah (Cusick) Mize. Ruby was raised in the Knob Creek Community of Sevier County, TN. She married Ralph H. Webb on May 4, 1935 in Blount County, TN and he preceded her in death on March 25, 1984. After their marriage they resided in Boyds Creek Community, Sevier County, TN. They engaged in farming there until they moved to a farm south of Tower Hill, IL on December 10, 1948. They resided there until March 1980, when they moved to Shelbyville, IL. Ruby was a member of the Knob Creek Baptist Church of Sevier County, TN. When she moved to Illinois, Ruby, Ralph and Buford attended Zion Methodist Church, Tower Hill, IL and then First Assembly of God, Shelbyville, IL. By those who knew her, she was known for her chocolate chip cookies, her flower gardens and her immaculate yard.
Surviving are her son, Buford Webb and wife Elaine of Tower Hill; granddaughters, Regina (Webb) Calvert and husband Bill of Tower Hill and Carol (Webb) Scates and husband Alan of Land O Lakes, FL; and great grandchildren, LeeAnn and Staci Calvert both of Tower Hill, and Ryan, Austin and Caitlin Scates all of Land O Lakes, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 17 siblings, including Sam and Hugh Mize.
