Ruth I Turner

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Dr. David Milddleton and Rev. David Hutton officiating. Burial will be in Myers Cemetery, Herrick, IL. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville.
Mrs. Turner was born on October 4, 1924 in Fayette County, IL, the daughter of James Ozrow and Florence Elizabeth Childress Beck. She graduated from Herrick High School in the Class of 1943 and then attended Brown Business College in Decatur, IL. She married William L. Turner on August 20, 1949 in Albany, CA. Ruth was baptized in her youth in the Herrick Christian Church and later she and her husband attended the First United Methodist Church in Shelbyville.
She is survived by her husband, William L. Turner; daughters, Elisa Anne Turner and husband Eric S. Smith, MD of Coral Gables, FL and Susan Arminda Turner Mathew and husband Ivan K. Mathew of Paradise Valley, AZ; and three grandchildren, Grant Stanton Smith, Margaret Susan Smith and Gabrielle Elizabeth Arminda Mathew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Marshall A. K. Mathew; one brother; and two sisters.
