Sally A Cox
(November 29, 1943 – November 24, 2015)
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, November 28, 2015 in the Herrick Baptist Church, Herrick, IL with Rev. Jay Bridges and Rev. Jay Huddleston officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – noon on Saturday in the church. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery, Herrick, IL. Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to her family.
Sally was born on November 29, 1943 in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Irma Trapp Murray. She was a graduate of St. John’s School of Nursing in Springfield, IL. Sally was a Registered Nurse and worked on the Oncology Unit at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL until her retirement in 2007. She was a member of Eastview Baptist Church in Springfield, IL and a former member of the Herrick Baptist Church, Herrick, IL. She married Roger L. Cox on June 6, 1959 in Batavia, IL. He died on May 6, 1978.
She is survived by her sons, Daniel L. Cox of Mattoon, IL and Kevin R. Cox of Bloomington, IL; daughters, Cynthia A. (Troy) Fodor of Williamsville, IL and Kimberly S. Boehm of Shelbyville, IL; 13 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger; brother, William Murray; and one grandson, Christopher Cox.
